    Really interesting post Joanne - many thanks for that. I did a slot on BBC Breakfast News (on motoring) a while back for free and felt it was worth it for the exposure - but in the long term I would hope to get paid and this has given me useful info about how to go about it!

    I like the tip about 'what is fee?'

    For me the speaking is usually worth the exposure even if they don't pay, however, nice to know that the TV shows to tend to have a budget!
